Story by: Jonathan Weed

Montevallo seniors Natalie Henderson, Madaline Bruce, and Savannah Thomas opened their senior art exhibit to the community starting April 25th through the 28th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Gallery in Bloch Hall.

Every year seniors from the University Art Department create a gallery to showcase art which will eventually be judged for their degree evaluation.

This year the three seniors worked together to create art that was similar in style but had different subjects.

“We were suppose to make four images that didn’t go together but in the same kind of image series.” states Madaline Bruce who worked on the two paintings you see featured in the article.

Madaline spoke about her inspiration for her works and she spoke about her fascination with the ocean and aquatic creatures, “I did not stop drawing mermaids (at a younger age) they were all in my notebooks and sketchbooks.”

The artists encourage everyone in the community to come to see their art and you can even leave a suggested contribution to their work by using Venmo and using their username at the bottom of each artist’s exhibit.

Best of luck to the artists on their senior project and you can see more of their art in the video below!
