On Tuesday, March 14, the University of Montevallo Junior Alumni Board will host a professional development event focused on personal branding. The event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. in Wills Hall room G2, but participants can also join via Zoom.

UM alumni Michael Lebeau, Director of the Career Development Center, and Eric SanInocencio, Senior Content Manager for Amazon, will be guest speakers on the topic.  

As the Director of UM’s Career Development Center, Lebau sees first-hand the importance of personal branding when talking to students. He said, sometimes he will speak with a student and notice that their resume does not adequately represent them.  

 Lebau describes personal branding as, “effectively communicating to someone who doesn’t know you that you’re a good candidate.” He said that this is an important skill to have in a competitive job market.
