There’s a new spot in town for coffee lovers to grab their morning cup of Joe.
Baba Java – meaning “Father Coffee” in Arabic – opened a second location earlier this month on Main Street in the Strand building.
Baba Java’s goal is to provide quality coffee from farmer to consumer. They have a roasting space in Pelham, so all preparation is done locally to ensure rich flavors in the coffee beans. The beans themselves are outsourced from different countries like Yemen, Honduras, and Colombia. The company stresses the importance of quality roasting on their website where they say the process is “arguably the most important factor in determining the flavor and mouthfeel of the coffee.”
The Montevallo location is located in a convenient spot on Main Street. The shop holds three separate seating areas with tables, couches, and a barista bar. They have all of the classics – lattes, macchiatos, cold brews, and more. Baba Java also has a new spring menu with specialty drinks, including an “Elderberry Elixir”.
