There are important conversations happening right on our campus that are hosted by the Falcon Facilitators.
The University of Montevallo Falcon Facilitators is a group of students that host forums in classrooms around campus that discuss difficult topics such as race, gender, life in school, and much more.
They host these deliberative discussions to bring light to different opinions and make a difference in the community. Senior Falcon Facilitator Jacob Heath said ” I think it really helps the community and student body by just allowing ideas and topics to be discussed. A lot of times there are issues and they aren’t able to be solved because there not being talked about so just opening up to these forums allows for people to really just state their opinion and get to the root of the problem”
The program also provides the students with a paid internship position that can count towards a student’s credits. It gives students experience with moderating and hosting forums
Senior Falcon Facilitator Bella Ward ” “It’s been wonderful I’m huge communication studies advocate, I think that we have a very special community where we can really just be straight with each other and really just talk to each other.”

Any student can be a Falcon Facilitator, If you are looking to join the program, contact Dr. Sally Hardig.
