MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo’s Registrar’s office announced before spring break that they are rolling out a new way to handle the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

FERPA allows students to dictate who school officials are allowed to discuss or share student’s information with, such as grades, FAFSA and student bills.

Prior to March 2025, students would fill out the FERPA form online, listing who can and cannot access their records. The new program, titled CampusESP, reportedly will give currently enrolled students full control over who all can access records and what information they may access. It’s very similar to the former process; however, the FERPA results will be more immediate rather than waiting for the forms to process.

The link to UM’s CampusESP is montevallo.campusesp.com. A guide for how to access CampusESP in order to update FERPA was sent in an email by the Registrar’s Office on March 21. Even if you have filled out FERPA before, you will have to complete the new form again.
