MONTEVALLO, Ala. — For Most Students at the University of Montevallo, finals exams begin Dec. 8th, the University offers services with no charge, that can make your final week of the semester go smoothly.

-FALCON SUCCESS CENTER-

The Falcon Success Center offers students a couple of different services to students free of charge, such as academic counseling and coaching, accountability groups and student success plans.

UM student Wyatt Smith had only positive things to say when he spoke about the success center.

The Falcon success center’s main focus is to provide students support and encouragement to help build academic skills.

The Falcon Success Center is on the lower level of Carmichael Library.

-HERBERT WRITING CENTER-

Most students at the University of Montevallo have to take at least one English class, and The Herbert writing center is focused on developing skills required for writing at a college level such as brainstorming, revision, and proofreading.

If you would like to make an in-person appointment, visit the writing center in Humanities Hall room 311, Monday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

-TUTORING-

Tutoring is offered to Montevallo students with a 3.0 GPA or higher, students have access to in-person private tutoring as well as group sessions, online assistance is also available.

You can make a tutoring appointment inside the Carmichael library on the bottom floor.

-CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER-

The Career Development Center helps students with career planning and how to prepare for a profession after college. The Development center also offers internship opportunities, as well as teaching students how to make a professional cover letter and resume.

You can find the Career Development Center on the 2nd floor of Farmer Hall.

-COUNSELING SERVICES-

Counseling Services is available to UM staff as well as students, with the goal of helping students manage stress that comes with the college workload.
